The sketching of strangers on the subway is its own genre, with dozens if not hundreds of practitioners every day. For me these strangers are a subset of the universe of fellow travelers that also includes MetroNorth train passengers, bus riders, and the waiting-at-the-airport crowd. Here are faces from late in 2010, the first in an intermittent series that may project both forward and backward in time as I plumb my sketchbooks. I’m also rolling out my new logo here, testing it as a replacement for signing posted works.
