Frank Vignola Trio\u00a0 – Cole Auditorium, Greenwich\u00a0 –\u00a0 January 9, 2011<\/p>\n

Once again back to the trusty Greenwich Library’s Cole Auditorium.\u00a0 Vignola’s theme for the concert is the spirit of Django, though they certainly mixed in plenty of contemporary (Simon & Garfunkel, Beatles) tunes, and JS Bach, and shpritzed in various snippet riffs throughout, including “Stairway to Heaven”.\u00a0 Vignola is a fine showman as well, not above halting a tune to insert a comment, banter with the audience, or tell a joke.\u00a0 He did announce that I was sketching, and then they struck a pose for about 10 seconds before returning to the flow of music.<\/p>\n
