Uncle Brother –\u00a0 Culture Lab, Long Island City – 27 April 2024<\/p>\n

This year’s travel splurge took me back to the east coast, and believe me, I scarfed New York pizza at every opportunity!\u00a0 Culture Lab (https:\/\/www.culturelablic.org\/<\/a>) is a nonprofit art gallery, performing arts venue, event space and community center, an anchor to which Long Island City, Queens, is moored.\u00a0 The Uncle Brother group, fronted by Paddy Maguire (https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/p\/Uncle-Brother-100065292378346\/<\/a>), splits the set list between country-inflected originals and classic rock chestnuts (they had me at “Third Stone…”).\u00a0 Zak is not a band member, he was tending bar while we were waiting for the music to begin.\u00a0 A performance is a performance, no?<\/p>\n
