Focus: British Music Since WWII – Paul Hall – January 29, 2013
Juilliard School’s annual Focus Festival, put together by Joel Sachs, is a standby for me; performance sketches are mostly of students. I could get to only one concert of the series this year, so I went with the one featuring a pre-performance discussion panel of composers. For some inane reason standby non-ticketholders like myself were denied admission to the discussion session despite the plethora of empty seats. Somebody, about whom I cannot speak charitably, needed to feel the rush of wielding power.
